Mini Review: Ted

Everyone remembers the time they spent with their favorite toys. Most people grow out of that stage and move on; others remain in that world, never wanting to grow up. This set up one of the more clever ideas for a comedy in the last few years as a grown man continued to live with his foul-mouthed teddy bear. The movie was crude, gross, offensive and hilarious.

Director/writer Seth MacFarlene made his film debut with a story that may strike some as standard at heart, but he got the most laughs from the premise with great comedic turns by Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis and himself as the soft, cuddly, racist bear.

The story was basically set up, but the message of never losing what’s close to you while remembering to grow up was one most college men should take to heart and one that will make Paddington Bear and Winnie the Pooh rethink their career paths.
