Mini Review: The Dictator

Sacha Baron Cohen has established himself as the king of crude in movies like “Borat” and “Bruno.” “The Dictator” was no less offensive or hilarious as Cohen donned a beard that would make Dumbledore jealous and played General Aladden. The movie abandoned Cohen’s normal mockumentary style in favor of a more traditional narrative of a man in crisis learning the values of being good through the help of a young woman.

Granted, the story was strong, but Cohen remembered to be consistently funny and crude with a committed performance. The result was a more simply structured comedy that was not for the faint of heart, as they will most likely have a laughter-induced heart attack.
